Ajax Systems, the most awarded wireless security system provider in Europe, is in a search of a professional and dedicated individual for the role of Head of Logistics, who is willing to take on the responsibility to lead all transport logistics in the fast-growing Company with over 1,800 employees and sales to over 120 global markets. Position assumes reporting to the Supply Chain Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Overall responsibility for Logistics (customs, transport, warehouse) and Cost Estimating activities across the business
  • Expert knowledge related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations
  • Expert knowledge customs mode of processing (IM51)
  • Warehouse managment expertize
  • Guarantee that materials are supplied on time with the appropriate quality and in the accurate quantity to supported plants, or assure the prompt delivery of finished products to customers
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Hold responsibility for cost
  • Prepare the monthly/annual budget and forecasts
  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
  • Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
  • Recommend solutions without compromising quality while optimising cost
  • Main KPI’s achievement, reporting
  • Provide mentorship to department under control, set its objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance
  • Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.

Requirements for a successful candidate:

  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) (finance/logistics in priority)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in logistics management or consulting
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders
  • Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills: Applicants must have the ability to think critically working outside the box
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
  • Excellent organizational and Team management skills
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
  • Proficiency in English (C1 and over) is required.
